Digital Artwork

There are a number of reasons to submit digital files through our website as opposed to sending traditional paper orders.
  • Instant File Transfer and Order Submission
Customers outside of our route delivery radius can receive orders much quicker and avoid the hassles associated with mailing artwork and faxing order forms separately. Local customers can submit orders even after the driver has left.

  • The Digital Edge
Combining your first generation artwork with our direct-to-plate system means a 100% exact reproduction with no degradation in quality.

While we can accept native files from a number of today's popular graphics and design programs, we prefer files to be saved in one of three formats: PDF, EPS, or TIF format. PDF, or Portable Document Format, files are preferred because of the ability to embed all fonts and images into the file, greatly minimizing the primary cause of problems with digital artwork. For more information, please see our guide for converting files to preferred format.

Software supported:
  • Adobe Pagemaker
  • Corel Draw
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • QuarkXpress
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign

  • Please follow the instructions below to help ensure a seamless transition of your file from submission to production.
    Artwork Files
    1. Provide your artwork 1-up at the size it will print (actual size) and at least 600 DPI.
    2. Create your artwork on the correct page size (ie. business card page size should be 2" x 3.5") unless artwork bleeds. Bleeds must extend at least 1/8" beyond the edge of the card.
    3. Send us the file as a composite CMYK with named pantone spot colors.
    4. If supplying multiple names, please send them 4-up stacked (one column) or 12-up (3 columns of 4) with no horizontal or vertical gutters.
    5. Do not provide fonts. We will not load external fonts onto our systems.
    6. Do not provide artwork that needs to be linked to existing artwork on file.
    Uploading
    1. Do not upload files over 25 mb. Although all files combined may total more than 25 mb, individual files over 25 mb will be rejected by the FTP server.
    2. If necessary, you may compress (ZIP) or stuff (SIT) files. Please do not create self-extracting archives. For security reasons, we WILL NOT run any executable (EXE) file.
    3. Make sure all files being uploaded have the proper extension (ie. .PDF, .EPS, .TIF, .ZIP, .SIT). Files sent without an extension may become corrupt and unusable.
    4. Remember to put all jobs into their own specific folder (ie. Rocky Mountain BC).
    5. Do not close the browser window during the upload process. Large files may take an extended period of time to upload depending on connection speed, Internet congestion, etc.
    6. Verify that all files necessary have been uploaded and are contained within the proper folder.
    Order Form
    1. Be sure that all files have been uploaded to our server before submitting the order form.
    2. Fill out the order form completely and accurately.
    3. Do not group unrelated jobs, or jobs that require different print methods (ie. 1 flat, 1 raised) or ink colors (ie. 1 Reflex Blue, 1 Burgundy) on the same order form.
